The globe earth is like a village on which events taking place at one place, will affect industrial cities have made for the human beings environmental pollution an intolerable problem of grave consequences. Factories dump large amounts of polluted water, and other dangerous wastes in small areas like fresh-water lakes, rivers and valleys. Similarly, air also gets polluted in almost all major cities of the world.
Pollution problem is as serious and complicated. It may keep on becoming serious, because it is caused by human activities that are related to the dwellers of the earth. Besides the poisonous fumes of large industries in Russia, China, Europe and America, nuclear plants as well as exhaust from motors are causing major percentage of pollution in the world. But, at the same time, industry and transportation are essential for human beings. Industry has double edge. It provides jobs but it exudes polluted fumes causing air pollution. Use of fertilizers and pesticides ruin soil, but these help to increase crop yields.
Polluted air is fatal. It spreads diseases. Sea pollution causes death for marine life. Environmental pollution produces ugliness in the pastoral beauty of the earth. Technological progress in agriculture, industry and transportation have caused a revolution, but adverse effects left on our lives is great. We have to pay for all the years to come. Air pollution is caused by the artificially created wastes. It has harmful effect on human health. Lungs and eyes are badly affected by air pollution. Polluted fumes leave harmful effects on human blood. It leaves harmful effects on human health in general. Air pollution not only causes asthma; bronchitis, it causes increased risks for crops and fruits. It harms metal and concrete structures. Beauty of the Taj Mahal has been marred by a chemical plant near Agra. Water pollution is caused by toxic wastes substances, which are extremely harmful for human health. Pollution affects rain, rivers, lakes, oceans and water beneath the earth surface. Acute poisoning causes death for sea-life. Polluted water causes typhoid, cholera and dysentery.
Soil pollution causes damage to land fertility. Fertility of land is a natural quality that was created over million of years. Noise is another kind of pollution which causes a great harm to human life. Mechanical life in urban areas of the world and misuse of loudspeakers in Pakistan have spoiled quietness and peaceful environment of our cities and villages. It is a great hazard for human life. Noise increases our heart pulse and blood pressure.
